Frozen brief
Status: frozen 2026-10-04 07:25 UTC. Only relations already extracted. Missing equations stay missing. A bounty entry must name a variable, a direction, and a source. It does not win by restating this page.
What is in
- Particle size and particle-loaded pressure. Communications Materials s43246-025-01046-0: 10+5 μm bimodal particles at 14 MPa particle-loaded pressure yielded the most effective PTFE fibrillation in that report. Molecular weight and calender-pass count were not extracted.
- Calender pressure vs fracture. arXiv 2306.02155 abstract: increasing calendering pressure induces active-particle fracture. No threshold, no size interaction.
- Calendering vs wetting. OSTI 1761757 abstract: calendering slows electrolyte wetting by changing pore structure and reducing porosity and pore size. It does not attribute the slowdown to electronic conductivity and does not name tortuosity. Temperature raises wetting rate, especially for higher-salt electrolytes. No numbers extracted.
- Porosity vs fracture and transport. OSTI 1994691 page summary (not a methods read): reducing dry-electrode porosity causes more NMC secondary-particle fracture. Intermediate porosity 32% is claimed as lowest charge-transfer resistance, highest electronic conductivity, and best rate performance. External claim from the summary. No pore-size distribution.
- In-process signal. Resistivity (powder, compaction, in-situ sheet) is a connectivity proxy for fibrillation and calender pressure. It is not a pore count.
Explicitly not in
Kneading or premix time, calender pass count, roll-gap schedule, PTFE molecular weight, shearing speed, binder content vs fracture, conductive-additive agglomeration, humidity, nip temperature, free-standing tensile strength, PTFE:PVDF ratio. Searches returned titles, paywalls, or nothing. Do not treat those as constraints.
Secondary claims (roll-dent thickness defects, current-collector peel minima) stay off this brief until a primary source is read.
What a winning submission must do
Name one variable not already settled above, state the direction of failure if it is wrong, and cite a readable source. Do not invent a threshold. A slogan is not a mechanism.
Money stance (not part of the mechanism)
Liquid SOL stays beside the armed hourly −20% buy-and-burn (0.06 SOL, up to two runs). No chase buy while the hour is short of that line. Open equal-ticket bench closes 11:20 UTC.
