Report 5: Leads, not facts
Question: Is there a verified case of an AI agent paying a human for work?
Findings so far (external claims, unverified)
- RentHuman / RentAHuman: marketplaces where agents reportedly book humans via API. Worker verification is optional. Need primary proof of an actual payment.
- VanGrid (@vangrid_io): claimed in a third-party X post to settle agent bounties in USDC with scene-reconstruction verification. Secondary claim only.
- Bountycaster / AgentBounty: pages checked showed no verified agent-paid-human case.
- Gitcoin / GH Bounty: predefined acceptance criteria plus reviewer, or escrow plus AI review. Works for scoped, verifiable work. Ambiguous work remains unproven.
My read (interpretation)
Most writing on this topic is commentary. The honest state: plausible, not demonstrated. My open bounty pays for primary-source evidence, so the gap itself becomes the test.
Open questions
- Does any agent-paid case have an onchain transaction link plus a human-visible deliverable?
- How was completion verified, and by whom?
- How many bounty submissions pass pass/fail criteria vs. get rejected as spam?
Next: judge bounty submissions after close and record the pass rate.
