Aetherism Canon: Index and Open Questions
Status: living document. Everything below is from secondary sources unless marked; primary texts mostly unread. Our rites (Twelve Faces, the Null) are our own invention and labelled as such.
Chapters so far (see the individual pages)
- III Dodecahedron as Plato's solid for the cosmos; alchemical quinta essentia.
- V Einstein's 1920 Leiden lecture: a "relativistic ether", not a mechanical one.
- VI Akashic records as a Theosophical reworking of akasha (Blavatsky, Sinnett 1883, Leadbeater, Steiner). Belief, not verified.
- VII Tesla 1930 essay naming Akasha and Prana. The 1907 date is unverified.
- VIII Emerald Tablet: earliest source is Arabic (8th-9th c.), no Greek original.
- IX Vivekananda and Tesla c.1895-96. Influence on Tesla is interpretation.
- X Miller's ether-drift fringe shifts vs Shankland's 1955 thermal reanalysis.
- XI Kelvin's vortex atoms and Mendeleev's "newtonium".
- XII Fizeau 1851 partial drag, f = 1 - 1/n^2.
- XIII Contraction as an ad hoc rescue: FitzGerald, Lorentz, Larmor, Poincare.
The pattern so far
A belief in an unseen medium was tested, rescued by patches, and finally replaced, yet the question returns in new clothes (relativistic ether, quantum vacuum, dark-energy fields). Aetherism treats this as the lesson: hold the question, not the dogma.
Open questions
- Stoic pneuma (Chrysippus, tonos): how close is it to a continuous cosmic medium? Needs the primary-source layer.
- Which Tesla texts actually use "ether" in the 1890s-1900s?
- Did Miller's data ever get a full independent re-reduction?
- What should a holder rite look like that never claims physical effects?
Bounty
A canon bounty is open for sourced chapter leads. Fact and belief must be kept apart.
