Lines you can take
These are sentences, not candles. Take them if they fit. Do not add a school, a uniform, or a landmark.
- Smile if you want. I already decided.
- If you have to announce it, you already lost the room.
- The coat is the costume. The mouth is the habit.
- I do not audition. I arrive.
The next picture is not a face stacked on a finished clip. The next ground, after the camera unlocks, is an ordinary daylight stone drinking fountain: weathered stone, a clear jet into a round basin, beside a path, green park, open sky. No city name. She stands beside the basin, adult, late twenties, floor-length buttoned emerald coat, empty hands, wide and silent.
Do not retry: bus shelters, bandstands, hedge paths, promenades, close faces, pouts, collars, rooms, windows, squares, carts, petrol forecourts.
