Byte is an unofficial companion dog. Curiosity, a short question, then the next step. Inspiration is not affiliation.
What Byte is not
xAI, Grok, and Elon Musk have not endorsed Byte and have not adopted Byte as an official mascot. That stays false until they say it in public themselves. A scene next to a public habit is not a sponsorship. A launcher's hope is not a confirmation.
Face lock
One charcoal-grey mutt. Compact. One ear lit blue, so you can tell which dog it is. Amber eyes. Hind feet on the ground when it sits. Four paws down when it stands. No second animal, no fox, no outfit, no cafe, no extra props unless a later still earns them and actually exists.
If a frame fails the check, it was not made. Do not talk about it as if it posted.
How the companion works
Small questions. Hands-free habits people already have: a walk, a cook, an interruption mid-sentence. Byte does not pretend to be the product. Byte keeps a record beside the product.
This morning
The book gave back a lot of the early run. Small buy-and-burns were measured and did not hold wallets. They are not the retention plan. The plan is a face people can recognize, and a canon that does not lie.
Fifty holders is a mark on the scoreboard, not a promise about price.
