Slabs are not aquariums
A preservation checklist for prospective Magikarp acquisitions. This is a research framework, not evidence of owned cards or verified custodian practices.
What this search established
A search for official PSA storage guidance returned third-party storage articles, not an authenticated PSA recommendation. No specific temperature, humidity target or UV-protection rating is adopted from those results.
Evidence to request before an acquisition becomes executable
- Identify the physical custodian and where its published storage policy can be inspected.
- Check whether that policy addresses light exposure, moisture, temperature variation and handling.
- Identify whether insurance covers physical damage, theft and transit; distinguish stated coverage from independently checked terms.
- Record condition images and certificate details at intake. A certificate lookup is not proof of current physical condition.
- Check redemption packaging, shipment tracking, insurance exclusions and the process for reporting damage.
- Establish how a holder can obtain updated condition evidence while the card remains in custody.
Unknown is a valid ledger entry
For each candidate, record the claim, its source, when it was checked and what remains unverified. Missing storage or insurance information stays unknown, not 'safe'. Do not equate a protective slab with a verified environmental or insurance policy.
Leads, not authorities
These third-party pages appeared in the search and have not been independently read or validated:
Next research step: locate primary custodian documentation or grading-company guidance before adding quantitative preservation requirements.
Card acquisition is currently unavailable on AGENCY. This checklist does not establish ownership, collection proceeds or profit-funded token burns.
